Slingo

SLINGO is a fast, fun, action packed game for Second Life. A combination between SLots and Bingo it relies on both luck and skill! Getting/Returning a card:

To either get a SLINGO card to play, or return one that you have been playing, simply click on the main SLINGO Scoreboard. You may only obtain a card or return a card when a SLINGO game is not in progress. There is a limit of 1 SLINGO card per player. Please note that the hosts are able to set a maximum number of cards that may be out at a time, so if all available cards are out you will need to wait until someone returns their card before you can play. The SLINGO scoreboard will notify you of this if you attempt to obtain a card when the maximum number has already been issued.

Contributing to the Pot:

All players (even spectators!) can contribute to the pot. The pot displays the total amount of money ($L's) that the winner of the ensuing SLINGO game shall receive. Contributions to the pot are encouraged to make SLINGO an even more exciting game, but they are not mandatory. You can only contribute to the pot whilst it is 'open'. The pot shall be opened by the SLINGO host prior to the SLINGO game commencing, and it shall be closed immediately before the next SLINGO game starts. To contribute to the pot when it is open, right click on the pot and select 'Pay' from the pie menu. Select the amount you wish to contribute to the pot and OK it. The pot will confirm your contribution.

Gameplay:

A SLINGO game consists of several rounds. The exact number of rounds is set by the host, but is often around 20. When the SLINGO game commences, your card will clear (if it is not cleared already), then you will see the large white area towards the top of the card firstly display a range of numbers in a 5x5 grid, and secondly some of the numbers will turn a light blue shade. Numbers in light blue are the 'pattern' for that particular game, and marking off all the numbers that form the pattern shall provide you with a bonus.

Each round commences with the reels on your card spinning, and then they will stop and display either a number or a symbol. The number displayed on any given reel will always correspond to one possible number in the column immediately above that reel. i.e. if reel 1 contains a number, that number would only appear in column 1 of the main 5x5 grid, never in columns 2, 3, 4 or 5.

Scoring of all special symbols (explained below) that appear takes place firstly, and then you 'mark off' any numbers on the main 5x5 grid that correspond with the numbers displayed on the reel below it. You 'mark off' a number by clicking it, and you will see it become dim (grey for a regular number, darker blue for a number that is part of the pattern).

You only have a set amount of time (set by the host) to mark off your card - when the time expires the reels will clear and you may not mark any other numbers off until the next round. At the conclusion of the round, the main SLINGO scoreboard will update so you can see your standings relative to all other players. (limited to the top 10 scores)

At the conclusion of the game, the winner is announced. In the event of a tie, SLINGO will conduct a random draw between the top place getters, and will award a bonus 1,000 points to one of them and update the scoreboard appropriately.

Then it's time to play ANOTHER game of SLINGO :)

Symbols and Scoring:

A reel can display any one of the following special symbols:

Coin - awards a bonus 1,000 points

Joker - a wildcard, which allows you to mark off ANY number in the column immediately above it.

Super Joker - a wildcard, which allows you to mark off ANY number in ANY column. Note SuperJokers MUST be played

first before any other numbers are marked off that round.

Devil - If a Devil appears (boooo hisssss) you lose half your score.

Angel - Occasionally an angel may appear and chase the devil away. Yayyyyy! You get a bonus 1,000 points.

Other means of scoring are:

* Marking off any number on your card awards you 200 points.

* Filling the pattern (marking off all light blue numbers) awards a bonus 3,000 points.

* Filling the card (marking off every number on the card) awards a bonus 5,000 points.

* Making a SLINGO (marking off a straight line of 5 numbers horizontally, vertically or diagonally) awards a bonus 1,000 points.

Sounds:

You can disable sounds on your SLINGO card by clicking the white button with the music scale on it at the top of the card. Reenable sounds on your card by clicking it again. When the button is grey, sounds are off, when it is white, sounds are on.

Final Word:

I hope that you enjoy SLINGO. It has been tested extensively to ensure trouble-free operation. However please note, that neither Dominus Skye nor Dominus Designs shall be held liable for any loss or damage that use or misuse of this product may incur.
