The popular reality TV show will select 15 Second Life contestants in three time zones. Contestants will have to spend at least 8 hours a day in the transparent virtual Big Brother house for a total of one month, and will complete various tasks such as building replicas of famous buildings.

Their fate will be decided by other Second Life residents, who will vote on which contestants will be allowed to stay.

“Big Brother is the perfect format,” said Paul Römer, managing director of Endemol Netherlands, in a statement. “Now that it’s been seen by 2 billion viewers all over the world, it is now time to conquer the virtual world.”

The Big Brother island, where residents can apply to become contestants, contains five transparent residential units, and a Big Brother nightclub. The contest begins Dec. 1.
